Extended Year Program

Overview

SEEM Collaborative Extended Year Programs benefit students through enriched academic, social and life skills curriculae. Staff address the needs of students who are in danger of substantial regression over the summer months, and through teamwork, cooperation, interdependence, friendship and community, help students make effective progress. Within SEEM's programs, students with unique special needs, ages 3-22, are grouped according to age/grade levels, as well as developmental and social/emotional needs.

The Extended Year Program provides individualized and small group instruction based upon the students' individualized education plans. Daily activities focus on communication, social skills, activities for daily living, motor skills and academic development. SEEM's curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and is consistent with the academic levels of the students. The format and structure of the SEEM Collaborative Extended Year Programs assist students with a smooth transition into the new school year.
