Assistive Technology

Overview

The SEEM Collaborative's Assistive Technology Team (SCATT) was implemented in 1998 as part of the State Wide Assistive Technology Team initiative, and it is comprised of special educators and interdisciplinary team members. The SCATT team provides support and services for SEEM Collaborative programs. Services can also be provided to member and non-member districts on a fee-for-service basis.

SCATT services include the maintenance of an assistive technology lending library, an assistive technology computer lab, and the demonstration of educational software, AAC devices, low-tech solutions, and adaptive equipment and devices. Support services include assessment of the assistive technology needs for each classroom of the SEEM Collaborative and consultation with each classroom teacher, meeting with collaborative/program administrators to assess assistive technology needs on a program by program basis, providing assistive technology workshops for SEEM staff, and assistive technology consultation for individual students is available.
